Hello everyone! My posts are lagging a bit because I've had a very cold wake up call to reality after the trip, so much school work for this girl! Finally the real school mode is kicking in and there's other stuff to do besides sitting in classes. Essays, exams, group work.. Love it even though it's keeping me busy!
But no worries, even with all that I still have some time left to write here! Because I am such a pro at organizing my schedule....! So without further ado... Here is day 2 of the trip!
My day started a little earlier than for others because I wanted to walk around the area nearby and take pictures before we left. This later-on became my morning routine because we always arrived late at hotels!
I can't get over how beautiful the sunsets and -rises combined with the mountains are!
Aaaand we're on the road again!
First stop for bathroom!
Snow shelter in case there are avalanches. These were built on the places where they occur the most! This pic was taken from the front of the bus where I was often sitting, trying to get good shots! For this particular one... We passed many of these and finally I went to the front and well, the first pic was not all that great so I was waiting another one to come along. I was chatting with the driver and the tour guide for quite some time until I mentioned I was trying to take a picture of that, a better one.
"Oh, we already passed all of those, there's none left!"
Well, at least I have this one!
Another stop. One of the small rivers from the glacier water. It was really cold too!
A stop for lunch, I had a really delicious falafel wrap! Unfortunately for you it was so good I have no pictures of it!
Lake Louise
Something I didn't think I would do! I was so sure the canoes would be the small one's where you have to sit inside the small round hole and row away wishing the canoe doesn't turn over... But when I saw these I was sure I wanted to try and guess what... The canoe didn't turn over, not even once, woohoo!

Beautiful. Altitude was a little higher already which I did feel while climbing! I was out of breath a lot faster than normally would have been! (Excuses excuses)

Hotel room at Banff, it was pretty fancy, we had two floors all to ourselves! And two tv's!
After lake Moraine we drove to Banff, checked into the hotel and headed off to a gondola ride to the mountains. The gondola went all the way up to the mountain, it was pretty cool sitting there, seeing how high it was!
Souvenir and food shops inside this place on the top. Gotta get the juices out of a tourist no matter what altitude!
This was a former cosmic ray station on Sulphur mountain! Someone would actually live there for
months on end!
Not sure if you can see it but people had written their names on the walls!

After the gondola ride we got ready for dinner (At Tony Roma's) and then headed to a local nightclub!

This was a really great day as well. The weather in the mountains was changing a lot, in one place it was cold and another you could walk around with a t-shirt! Banff was not a cold place either, I walked back from the nightclub and didn't need a long sleeved shirt. How's the weather over there in Europe? Heh....
So that's about the second day. I hope I'll have enough time to write about the third one tomorrow but we'll see!

(Suomennos. Heippa! Sori kun nämä postaukset tulevat nyt vähän myöhässä. Matkan jälkeen tuli karmea herätys todellisuuteen: Siihen kuinka paljon kouluhommia on tehtävänä! Esseitä, kokeita ja ryhmätöitä.. Mutta on se tavallaan mukavaa vaihtetua tunneilla istumiseen joten en valita! Mutta tässä siis kuvia päivältä 2!
Aamulla Revelstoke:ssa heräsin hieman aikaisemmin kuin muut koska halusin käydä ottamassa kuvia kaupungista. Tästä tuli joka-aamuinen tapa koska yleensä saavuimme hotellille pimeällä tai ei vain ollut aikaa silloin kuvailla..
Matka siis jatkui taas muutaman pysähdyksen kanssa joissa tietysti otettiin kuvia. Tunneli kuvassa on oikeastaan lumuvyöryjä varten. Niitä rakennettiin paikkoihin joissa niitä yleensä ilmenee eniten. Ohitimme niitä monia ja vihdoin lähdin istumaan auton etuosaan kuljettajan viereen jotta saisin kuvan sellaisesta. Sain yhden ja odotin sitten toista, juttelin siinä kuskin ja oppaan kanssa hyvän aikaa kunnes selvisi että näitä tunneleita ei enää tulisi! No sain ainakin yhden kuvan niistä vaikka hieman sumuinen onkin!
Lake Louis:ella kävimme sitten kanoottiretkellä! En aluksi halunnut mennä ollenkaan koska kuvittelin kanoottien olevan niitä pieniä joissa istutaan sellaiseen pieneen koloon ja sitten pelätään että milloin se kääntyy ympäri.. Tässä ei ollut sitä vaaraa joten rohkeana kyytiin vaan ja oli todella hauskaa! Maisemat olivat upeita myös järveltä päin.
Seuraava etappi oli Lake Moraine eli moreeni järvi. Korkeuseron kyllä huomasi ylämäkiä kiivetessä. Rupesi puuskututtamaan vähän aikaisemmin kuin yleensä!
Tältä järveltä suuntasimme sitten Banff:n keskustaan, kirjauduimme hotellille ja lähdimme gondoli ajelulle! (Ei siis veneeseen vaan vuorta pitkin!)
Maisemat olivat korkealta todella upeita! Siellä sitten kävelimme vanhalle sää-asemalle, otimme kuvia ja palasimme takaisin alas ja hotellille. Suuntasimme tyttöjen kanssa syömään ja paikalliseen baariin! Meno oli "hurja", minä lähtin puoli kaksitoista ja loput tytöt puoli tuntia sen jälkeen! Mutta aamulla taas oli aikainen herätys joten unta palloon vaan!
Vuoristossa on ollut vaihteleva sää: välillä palelee ja välillä tarkenee t-paidalla. Aurora- baarista takaisin kävellessä ei tarvinnut edes pitkähihaista! Mitenkäs Euroopan sää..? Heh!
Tässä siis toisesta päivästä, toivottavasti ehdin huomenna kirjoitella kolmannesta! Seuraavaan kertaan siis!)
